Online contest and product give-away

 

etnies is one of the premier action sports brands in the world and a company that’s always looking for innovative ways to market their products. So when we developed our proprietary online contesting platform, we knew they’d be a great candidate.

 

The concept behind the platform is simple: set up an online contest page that allows the brand and participating artists to leverage each others’ popularity to promote their product and music, respectively. In this instance, the product was etnies’ Jameson 2 shoe and the participating artists were four of alt-rock’s finest: Red Fang, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Rival Schools and Funeral Party.

 

We designed, built and hosted the contest page, which was live for one month. During that time, etnies and the artists and their labels promoted the contest heavily through their respective social media channels and official web sites.

 

Thousands of contest entries meant thousands of potential customers introduced to the Jameson 2, thanks to the artists driving traffic to the contest page (while etnies simultaneously promoted the contest – and the artists – through its channels). Meanwhile, etnies upped its cool quotient by aligning itself with four awesome bands. All collected email addresses and a full report on contest page traffic were delivered to etnies for use in future direct marketing efforts.
