Booking artists for performances for the Skullcandy booth at CES 2015

For our client Skullcandy, one of the world’s biggest headphone and portable audio brands, just setting up a booth at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas like everyone else wouldn’t do. No, it needed to rock, in order to fully convey the brand’s love of art, music and volume. While most of our work for Skullcandy centers around sourcing and licensing music for use in videos and in-store kiosks, we were happy to flex our artist booking chops to help them out.

Based on creative direction and budget from the brand – and with only about a month’s lead time - we quickly recruited two excellent indie bands, Death Valley Girls and Cosmonauts, to quite literally bring the noise to Vegas. We handled all fee, accommodation and rider negotiations on behalf Skullcandy, then drafted performance agreements for execution by both parties.

The bands’ happy hour performances were a hit, and unlike anything else at CES (which was precisely the point). Skullcandy reinforced their rep as a brand that walks the walk, introducing a blast of real, unadulterated rawk-n-roll into an otherwise staid convention.
